C# .NET Software Engineer

Location: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid - 2 Days Onsite)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated C# .NET Software Engineer to join a growing software engineering team supporting critical applications within the financial services sector. This role is primarily focused on backend development and offers the opportunity to build scalable, cloud-based solutions using modern Microsoft and AWS technologies.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives in an autonomous environment, takes ownership of projects, and enjoys solving complex technical challenges while collaborating with teams across multiple global locations.

Required Qualifications

• C#
• .NET/.NET Core
• AWS
• React
• Redux
• Proven background in backend software development, with 75-80% or more of recent experience focused on backend engineering.
• Experience building scalable, high-performance enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, and modern development practices.
• Ability to work independently and drive projects from concept to completion with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial Services, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working in highly regulated environments.
• Full-stack development experience is a plus, provided the majority of recent work has been backend-focused.
• Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and applications using C# and .NET.
• Build and support cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable software solutions.
• Participate in system design, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and engineering best practices.

You bring strong backend engineering expertise, modern development experience, and a passion for building reliable, scalable software solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Note: This is primarily a backend engineering role. Candidates whose experience is predominantly frontend-focused will not be considered.
