We are looking for an experienced Corporate Tax Staff Accountant to join a retail organization on a Long-term Contract basis. This onsite position is well suited for a tax specialist who can manage high-volume sales and use tax compliance across multiple entities and operating locations. The role will support a complex business environment that includes retail, food and beverage, and entertainment-related operations, while helping maintain accurate and timely tax reporting.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit roughly 25 sales and use tax returns for multiple legal entities across various jurisdictions.
• Oversee indirect tax compliance activities for a broad mix of operations, including stores, food and beverage sites, and attraction-based locations.
• Support filing accuracy and deadline management for U.S. and Canadian entities within the organization.
• Temporarily assume responsibility for sales tax activities that were previously handled by an external provider, ensuring continuity and control.
• Investigate tax questions tied to new systems, entity changes, and operational updates, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with compliance needs as additional locations and systems are introduced over the coming months.
• Evaluate existing registrations and filing configurations to confirm they remain accurate and up to date.
• Contribute to property tax compliance by preparing filings and supporting related documentation.
• Review transaction-level data and revenue activity to confirm correct tax treatment across multiple lines of business.
• Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to answer tax-related questions and strengthen compliance processes.• At least 5 years of hands-on sales and use tax experience in a corporate or multi-entity environment.
• Background supporting food and beverage tax compliance, with additional retail experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage filings across multiple locations, entities, and tax jurisdictions.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyze financial and transactional data efficiently.
• Working knowledge of corporate tax processes, including exposure to corporate tax returns, journal entries, and general ledger activity.
• Ability to work independently in an onsite setting while providing practical tax guidance to non-specialist teams.
• Experience handling tax compliance in fast-paced environments with changing operational needs.
