Job Title: Staff Accountant
Work Arrangement :
Fully remote; work from home Monday - Friday.
Role Summary:
The Staff Accountant supports payroll, tax reconciliation, and compliance activities in a government contracting environment. This role helps ensure labor costs are accurately recorded across payroll and timekeeping systems while maintaining compliance with DCAA and Department of Labor requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing & Compliance: Process end-to-end, multi-state payroll and ensure compliance with SCA wage determinations and Health & Welfare fringe benefit requirements.
Timekeeping Integration: Process payroll to align labor distributions with Unanet timekeeping reports and reconcile payroll registers to the general ledger to support accurate indirect rate calculations.
Tax Reconciliation: Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations for payroll tax filings, including Forms 940 and 941, state and local filings, and W-2s. Resolve discrepancies in partnership with the Tax Team.
Labor Distribution & Mapping: Review time sheet exports to ensure labor is charged accurately to direct, indirect, and overhead accounts in accordance with contract requirements and DCAA guidelines.
Audit Support: Maintain audit-ready records for DCAA and Department of Labor reviews, including labor distribution reports and SCA compliance documentation.
